This is a per person entry fee of £3 for the qualification round of the Hampshire Scout County Sporter Air Rifle Competition 2025.
A registration form for entries will be sent out following order of places.
The competition will be run at 6yds using the NSRA 6yd Rifle Targets and run to sporter rules in the standing position.
Classes will be determined by age as at 31/12/2025
1. Junior: 10-13 years
2. Intermediate: 14-17 years
3. Adult: 18+ years
All entries must be scouting members.
The top 8 from each class will be invited to a final to be held at 21st Romsey Scout HQ on 14th June 2025 where the finals will be held. Entry to the final will cost £5 per person.
The final will consist of a 40 shot match shoulder to shoulder complying with sporter rules.
Qualification Round
The qualification round will be a postal competition. Cards must be shot between 01st January 2025 and 31st March 2025 and post marked no later than 1st April 2025. It is possible to use other competitions for your qualification round but this must be advised in advance and the cards appropriately marked prior to shooting. The cards must also only be visually scored for that competition as they will be scored by NSRA Qualified Scorers once received into the postal location. It is also possible to use Camelot Postal results for your qualification round however you must nominate the month prior to the cards being shot and the cards marked accordingly.
Before Shooting any qualification Cards the cards must be signed and name printed across the back centre of the card by a qualified range officer.
Please ensure that you also write on the BACK of the card HANTS2025 prior to shooting. This will assist with Camelot cards being correctly identified and details passed on from the camelot organisers.
The front of the card will be completed with the shooters name and scout group and cards labelled 1 & 2 (2 shots per diagram) or 1, 2, 3 & 4 (1 shot per diagram)
The cards MUST all be shot on the same day using wadcutter / diablo style pellets only.
If shooting 2 cards with 2 shots per diagram making 10 shots per card and 20 shots in total.
If shooting 4 cards with 1 shot per diagram making 5 shots per card and 20 shots in total.
Once shot the cards must be signed by the shooter and then witnessed and dated by the same person who signed and printed the back of the cards.
Only 1 entry per shooter is permitted.
It is the range officers responsibility to ensure that the cards are shot to sporter rules at the 6yd distance.
Cards / Targets need to be posted to Steve Batchelor, 9 Rosewall Road, Maybush, Southampton, SO16 5DU. If you are local then targets can be delivered by hand but must reach by 6th April 2025 (inclusive) to be included for qualification.
Finals
The top 8 shooters for each class will be notified as soon as possible after the entries have been scored and ratified. A payment link or website link will be sent with a finals entry closing date, should you not enter the final by the closing date then the next highest score will be offered a place in the final.
The finals will be held at 21st Romsey Scout HQ on (whizzer) target changers. The final will consist of 15 minutes sighting and preparation time followed by 1 hour to shoot the 40 match shots. Own rifles are permitted but must be target rifles under 6ftlb.
